Campus "Get out the Vote" Schedule of Events
In the weeks leading up to the Pennsylvania Primary, student leaders with PennPIRG are working feverishly to ensure high turnout numbers on Philadelphia-area campuses. To continue the youth vote momentum seen in the first presidential contests of the year on April 22nd, students will organize phone banks, dorm storms, shuttles to the polls and other campus visibility events to build Election Day buzz on campus.
Schedule of Events:
Temple University, Philadelphia
April 16th - ‘Text out the Vote’ Pledge Table
Atrium of Howard Gittis Student Center, 12:00 pm-3:00 pm
Several student leaders dressed in Vote t-shirts will set up a brightly-decorated table in the Student Center, stop their peers on their way to class, urge them to sign a pledge to vote, then text their friends a ‘get out the vote’ reminder.
April 20th & April 21st - ‘Bring Your Own Phone’ Student Leader Get-out-the-Vote Phone Bank
Howard Gittis Student Center, Rm 244, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
April 22nd - Non-Partisan Results-Watching Party
Howard Gittis Student Center, Rm 200 AB, 7:30 pm.
Students will gather to watch results, debate their meanings, and root for their candidate of choice.
Dorms to Polls Shuttle
All day; Students will gather at each dorm on campus
Bryn Mawr Campus, Bryn Mawr
